How You Can Help and FAQ

Q: Can I donate food?

A: Yes, we do accept donations of nonperishable food items. (See below.) However, we can buy more food for the dollar at the Food Bank for Westchester than you can buy at a grocery store. So, we encourage you to consider a monetary contribution to the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry.
Q: Where can I send my donation check?
A: The Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation.  All donations are tax deductible.  Seventy-five percent of our donations come from private individuals like you.  Please send donation checks made payable to the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry addressed to
P.O. Box 834, Mount Kisco, NY 10549
.

Q:  Can I donate on-line?
A:  Donations can be made on-line by going to our webpage Donate.

Q: Where does the Food Pantry get most of its food?
A:  We buy the majority of the food we serve from the Food Bank for Westchester, a nonprofit food distribution organization.  However, often we must supplement these provisions with purchases from  local grocery stores.

Q: What kinds of foods are most needed right now?
A: We accept nonperishable food items in regular size packaging, that have not passed their expiration date.

Q: Where and when can I drop off food donations?
A: The Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry gratefully accepts food donations.  Items that are especially needed are cereal, dry or canned beans, white rice, sugar, and cooking oil. Donations of up to 10 bags of food may be delivered directly to the Food Pantry at the United Methodist Church of Mount Kisco.  Food may be left in storage bins just outside the Pantry room, which is accessed from the church's parking lot.  Entering from the door of the parking lot, turn left down several steps, and you will find the bins ahead on your left.  Please register your donation on the form provided so that we may properly acknowledge your donation. Entrance to the building is assured Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9-5 PM.  You may also make a donation on Tuesday evenings between 6-7 PM.
To arrange for a food drive donation, please call the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry at 610-5187 and leave a message.

Q: What if I have other questions not answered here?
A:  If you have more questions, please send us an email using the form on our Contact Us page, or call us at 914-610-5187.
